Business Practices

13. Author Fees

The chairperson convenes meetings of the REC and presides over them. Decisions are made by a majority vote of the attending members, with the approval of at least two-thirds of the attending members. In cases where the chairperson deems the matter to be minor, written deliberation may suffice. Meetings are generally held in private, but relevant parties may be invited to attend and provide input when deemed necessary.

14. Other Revenue

Revenue sources of the KJEB are from authors’ publication charge and the support of the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST) grant funded by the Korean government. Additionally, depending on the budgetary situation of KJEB , support from the Korean Society of Environmental Biology may be available.

15. Advertising

The KOSEB allows limited advertising from vendors selling experimental equipment and tools, national research institutions, research centers, and similar entities that sponsor the society. Advertisements are minimally displayed on the back page of the journal's print edition or at the bottom of the table of contents sent to members via email. Promotional materials for academic conferences, seminars, educational programs, and similar events promoting scholarly communications and education may be displayed on banners on the journal and society websites. Advertisements must not be related to papers published in KJEB and should not involve conflicts of interest. The final decision on advertising approval is made by the society's board of directors.

16. Direct Marketing

Journal propagation is carried out through pamphlet distribution on the journal website and at conferences and workshops. The editorial board of KJEB may extend invitations for manuscript submissions to researchers who have presented outstanding research findings at KOSEB's academic conferences.
